ASTM A283 Grade C Plate is used for general purpose structural applications of medium strength (60 ksi tensile) requirement. The machinability of it is good, as compared to any low carbon steel.
ASTM A283 Grade C Carbon Steel Plate can be welded by all conventional methods. Its heat treatment consists of normalizing at 1650 F and slow furnace cool.
A 283 GR C Pressure Vessel Plates hot working can be done at 1650 - 1700 F or lower temperatures. It can be readily cold worked by using conventional method and can be annealed at 1550 to 1800 F and slow furnace cool.

ASTM A283C Mild Steel Heavy plate is a type of carbon steel which has a low amount of carbon. It ranges vary depending on the source; the amount of carbon typically found in mild steel is 0.05% to 0.25% by weight
